Could Scotland’s BEST shortbread be made in FIFE?

Following the success of the Shortbread Showdown in March 2024, Visit Inverness Loch Ness will be hosting the shortbread competition again, working alongside other destination organisations, including Food from Fife to find the best shortbread in Scotland!

The 2024 event was a huge success, bringing interest and visitors to many destinations in Scotland. The grand final in Inverness brought hundreds of people together to taste shortbread, where Mackenzie’s Bakery from the Isle of Skye was crowned Champion for the second year in a row!

More information on the 2024 event and winners can be found HERE.

The competition aims to:

• Attract tourists to come and try the region’s best shortbreads and have the knowledge of where to find all the contenders in the competition

• To raise awareness of local businesses by putting them in the spotlight

• To give a chance for businesses to be inventive and create the best shortbreads they can, fully inclusive for all

•To highlight great collaborative working.

Interested? As a competitor, you will be required to:

  • Bake the shortbread for a shortlisting event, at which we will shortlist to a final 3 who will be required to attend a grand final in Inverness on Saturday 8th March – though all contenders will be welcome to attend as a guest.
  • Finalists will have a stall at the event in Inverness, where they can sell and promote their businesses products/ services. Any business can apply – it is a fully inclusive competition!
  • If through to the final, you will be required to bake the same shortbread as the shortlisting event and hand this over to a judging panel.

We would LOVE you to represent Fife, so please sign up and more information will be sent very soon!
