Greenheart Growers: Supporting the Future of Local Food in Fife

Greenheart Growers, a dynamic Community Interest Company and Market Garden Project based in Fife, is calling for community support to help secure essential materials and equipment for the upcoming 2025 growing season. Led by Director Andy McGovern, Greenheart Growers is on a mission to create a more resilient local food economy by equipping the community with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to grow their own food.

Their work is multifaceted: they grow a wide range of seasonal produce for local veg boxes and supply fresh, organic ingredients to chefs, restaurants, cafes, and organic food shops across Fife and beyond. In addition, they nurture the local community by providing seedlings and plants, as well as hosting events that promote joy, awareness, and engagement with sustainable growing practices.

Greenheart Growers isn’t just growing vegetables—they’re “growing the growers of the future.” By empowering volunteers and sharing expertise, they are helping to cultivate a new generation of food producers and community leaders committed to sustainable, organic agriculture.

As they prepare for the 2025 season, Greenheart Growers are asking for your help. Donations will go directly toward essential materials and equipment critical to the continued operation and success of the market garden. Every contribution is a step toward building a viable local food economy, a celebration of Scottish-grown produce, and a commitment to ensuring a healthy, sustainable future for our children and grandchildren.

Join them in their mission to support Scotland’s food future by donating today. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Watch their appeal video here to learn more, and contribute via their GoFundMe campaign. Together, we can make a lasting impact on Fife’s food system. 💚
