Ardross Farm is proud to announce the launch of its first farm-to-bottle lager, Rob’s Lager—a heartfelt tribute to their father, Rob, and the land that has sustained families for generations. This refreshing lager captures the essence of harvest time and will be ready for delivery just in time for Christmas, with pre-orders now open.

The Pollock family moved to Ardross Farm in 1968, but their roots in farming in Fife stretch back for generations. Over the years, the farm shop has become a renowned local supplier, recognised for its commitment to sustainability, high-quality produce, and dedication to supporting the local economy.

Rob cherished a cold lager at the end of a long day in the fields, often shared with friends and family. In honour of his memory and the family’s farm-to-bottle ethos, Rob’s Lager has been crafted using barley grown on the farm itself. The family partnered with Crafty Maltsters, a local business that specialises in small-batch malting, and St. Andrews Brewing Company to develop a unique recipe inspired by the crisp, refreshing lagers that Rob enjoyed.

St. Andrews Brewing Company expressed their enthusiasm about the collaboration: “The lager is refreshingly light with a smooth mouthfeel and subtle bitterness. It has aromas of fresh barley straw after the harvest, taking you straight to late summer on the farm. As a small family-run business, St Andrews Brewing Company were delighted to work with Ardross Farm on this very personal project. We hope that the partnership will continue, allowing us to support this local producer in making the most of their hard-earned harvest.”

Rob’s Lager reflects Ardross Farm’s deep commitment to sustainability. The barley is grown just metres from where it’s enjoyed, and local partnerships ensure that the entire process, from field to bottle, has a minimal environmental impact. This focus on sustainability extends across all of the farm’s offerings, from their grass-fed beef to homegrown vegetables.

Ardross Farm Shop has become a hub for local food lovers, offering everything from fresh produce to locally sourced goods. In addition to Rob’s Lager, customers can explore a wide range of seasonal items, including the farm’s own dry-aged beef, honey, and free-range Kelly Bronze, Ayrshire turkeys—making the shop a popular destination for holiday preparations.

The community played an essential role in bringing Rob’s Lager to life, contributing ideas for the name and label design. This collective effort makes the launch even more special, as the family shares this new chapter with friends, neighbours, and loyal customers.

With delivery expected in mid to late November, Rob’s Lager is the perfect addition to festive gatherings. Each sip is a reminder of the farm’s commitment to sustainable agriculture, the joy of community, and the satisfaction of supporting local producers.

Pre-orders for Rob’s Lager are now open on the Ardross Farm website, with cases available for collection or delivery in time for the holiday season.
